If there is anyone in the Dutch construction industry who can talk the talk about AI, it is Pim van Meer Redert, director of Digitalization at building developer VORM Holding. His message to hesitant clients and market parties? ''Start at the real pain points and work together.'

Not everyone in the sector is yet convinced of the usefulness of digitization, but you don't have to tell Van Meer Redert anything about the possibilities of tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini. The digitalization director breathes digitalization, is perhaps advocate number one.

Like no other, he knows how to quickly sift through mountains of documentation and rules with these kinds of digital tools. 'It provides numerous benefits, such as faster decision-making,' says the early adaptor.

He shares his knowledge in episode 2 of the podcast series Built by AI. He gives builders and clients who really want to get started with digitization plenty of advice. 'Start with the real pain points, work together across organizational boundaries and share solutions widely in the sector. Only then will AI become a lever for productivity growth in construction.'
